Franco B is a contestant on the hip-hop stage
in the online talent competition, FameCast.
He has advanced through four rounds because of the strong support
from online voters who appreciate the energy-packed, unique,
positive messages he brings to the hip-hop genre. He was invited
to perform live
in Austin, TX on July 27,2007 for the FameCast Finals: Hip-Hop
Stage.
Competing to win $10,000 against 4 other finalists from across
the USA, Franco B needs your vote to win. UPDATE:
Franco B beat out a total of 200 other performers to win the
hip-hop division of the competition and took home the $10,000,
which he will use to help jumpstart his quickly burgeoning
music career. Congratulations to him!
Self-Exploration Through Music
Franco
B seeks to "create lyrics and songs unique to life and
self-exploration," a
theme lacking in most of today's musical genres. While so many
other musicians are singing about the trivialties of everyday,
materialistic life, Franco B digs a lot deeper and sings from
the soul to bring to light the powers and struggles we
as human beings all experience within:
"I talk of the pressures of growing up
and old. I speak of the overwhelming feeling of yet to accomplish
anything of significance or importance. I talk of dreams
faded and the pain of dealing with a lack of dedication to
quite possibly the "one" thing you always wanted.
I talk of the decision many have made to just settle into
a job, into a life, into mediocrity.
I wish to touch on themes
that people may not want to discuss or admit to themselves.
That which we tuck away in the deepest corners of our mind,
hoping they will not have the audacity to creep up on us
one cold sad day. I talk of our almost embarrassing inability
to take risks, reach for the unknown, and live for our dreams."
But most importantly of all, his music is one of inspiration,
of hope, of determination to do that which we are all capable
of doing---achieve our dreams, whatever they may be.

Dylan or Roger
Waters juxtaposed with the modern-day energy and fresh
beat of a Kanye
West, Franco B draws from quite the variety of musical
influences to create his own unique style.
