Climbing Mountains
Jan 17th, 2008 by April
The other day I downloaded an ebook that was a memoir of one woman’s travels and adventures. The ebook came with various photos, one of which was a remarkable shot of the woman climbing a mountain. I probably cannot include the photo in this post because it will have a copyright attached to it.
Anyway, I saved the photo and made it the desktop background on my work computer. I simply thought it was a nice picture, but every day when I look at it, I feel a unique encouragement and inspiration. Watching this woman climb an actual mountain - a physical behemoth where one false move could kill her - makes me feel empowered. It makes me feel like I can climb all of my proverbial mountains in life. I draw strength from such a simple image.
We should all save images that inspire us, whether they be digital photos, newspaper clippings, letters from loved ones or fortune cookie messages. Whatever picks you up and makes you feel stronger is something you should hold onto.
