2008 Reading List
Jan 14th, 2008 by Ann
In case you haven’t given yourself a New Year’s resolution to complete, how about deciding to actually try to read all the books that you’ve been hankering to get to. Okay, well, maybe you should narrow it down to 10. That’s 1.2 books a month. Very realistic as a goal. Here’s my list:
- Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert - I think I’m the only person who hasn’t bought this book. It seems to be on everyone’s wish list.
- Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen - Another one that everyone keeps raving about but I haven’t gotten around to.
- Brother, I’m Dying, Edwidge Danticat -I heard her talk on NPR and the book sounded amazing.
- A Year of Living Yoga, Judith Hanson Lasater -Okay, I found this book simply by browsing through Amazon, but I have come across many a great find that way!
- Wars of Position: The Cultural Politics of Left and Right, Timothy Brennan -Well, there is more to politics than the primaries!
- Suite Francaise, Irene Nemirovsky
- Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life, Barbara Kingsolver
- The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, Michael Pollan
- The Tenderness of Wolves, Stef Penney
- The Jungle, Upton Sinclair - This has been on my reading list for two years.
So what’s on your list? What books do you recommend for 2008?
