Welcome to 2008

Happy New Year everyone. It’s that time again, when we all make our resolutions and hope to change our lives in positive ways. What are some of the ways you can make this year better than your last?
- Exercise more. Not only will it make you healthier and extend your life, but it gives you a natural high that will put you in a good mood. Just imagine how you will feel if you commit to exercising just 4 or 5 times a week.
- Get in touch with your creative side. Start a new journal, paint a picture, write a song or take your camera out for a photo shoot of your city. Art projects allow us to express ourselves in positive ways, and self-discovery is not far behind!
- Meet new people. Join a group for people in your field or with your interests, or donate time to a home for the elderly or a children’s hospital. Social interaction touches our lives in so many ways, and adding just one new person to your life can help you grow.
- Be informed. If you don’t have a regular habit of either reading or watching the news, try to establish one. What goes on in the world affects us all. If you are already a news consumer, try to introduce yourself to blogs, papers or other media outlets that present a different point of view than yours. You may learn something.
- Make more time for yourself. Spend a half hour each morning or evening pampering yourself. This could come in any form - reading a book you enjoy, taking a bath, calling a friend or taking yourself out to dinner. Do something nice for you - you deserve it!
