The Human Resources section of About.com lists the Top Ten Ways to Be Happy at Work. This is more important than some may realize; those who work the full-time minimum of 40 hours per week spend approximately 36% of his/her waking hours at the job. This adds up to a large portion of our lives and consequently, being happy at work is important in relation to one’s general quality of life.
One suggestion on the list is “Do Something You Love Every Day.” What an excellent suggestion! Most people believe that their jobs are boring and that they could never find them interesting or exciting. All one needs to do is dig a little deeper and figure out which of their tasks mesh well with their interests.
Another option is to “Make Friends.” Overall happiness in life is directly affected by one’s social interactions, and finding someone you get along with well at work helps make the entire experience more pleasant.
